Would you please...? (FAQs)
1. Add the NIV, NASB, NKJV, ESV, etc.
Sorry, but I cannot. (1) Royalty fees include an expensive up-front cost. Unless you want to send me a large check, this is not an option. (2) Most royalties require a percentage from each sale as well. I'm a full-time missionary, not an iPhone developer.
2. Add the ____ Bible
If I get time...I might add it depending on how much interest is shown by others. Currently, I'm not adding any due to server resources. I cannot afford dedicated hosting.
3. Add the NWT (New World Translation)
No. The NWT was translated from the Biblia Hebraica OT and the Westcott-Hort GNT. The translators purposefully changed/added many words in order to support incorrect doctrine and teaching.
4. Add bookmarking by verse, not just chapter
Restricting to chapter saves space scrolling through long tables of bookmarks. Please use the combination of bookmarking the chapter and highlighting the verse.
5. Add highlighting of words, not just whole verses
Since every translation is different, such highlighting techniques would only work per each version. Such code changes would be a drastic measure.
6. Add the Apocrypha
I believe in a 66 book canon. This article can explain it rather well.
7. Add an Android version
I'm sorry, but there is no Android version coming. I don't have the free-time (I'm a missionary. Development is just a free-time hobby.), an Android device, nor the server resources to handle the extra load.
Keeping such a great app free and paying for bandwidth for downloadable translations is quite expensive. If you appreciate the Holy Bible iPhone app, please consider donating through PayPal!
